Internship Programme
Forest Research Institute is a premier institute in the field of forest research in India and is one of the oldest institutions of its kind. Institute has played a crucial role in providing the technical resources in quest of knowledge and research. Therefore, FRI also provide amenities to students and scholars of other institutes/ universities for internships in various divisions of the institute. Applicants may apply for internship with any faculty or scientist through proper channel based in their interests and prior experience. Applicants have to send a letter through their head of institution/university to Registrar, FRIDU along with their CV and mark-sheets of secondary and senior secondary and graduation/post graduation. Applicants will be required to submit a report to the FRIDU after completion of the internship.

- CHEMISTRY & BIO-PROSPETING (Chemical Extracts from Trees, Forest based Oilseeds, Medicals and Aromatic Plants, Resins and Gums).
- EXTENSION (Social Forestry and Extension, Agroforestry).
- FOREST ECOLOGY & CLIMATE CHANGE (Forest Productivity, Biodiversity, Environment and Pollution Wasteland, Reclamation, Soil Geology and Mineralogy, Climate Change & Forest Influence).
- FOREST PROTECTION (Forest Diseases Forestry Bio-fertilizers Control Measure and Taxonomy).
- FOREST PRODUCTS (Timber Mechanics, Wood Seasoning, Wood Preservation, Composite Wood, Wood Working and Finishing, Timber Engineering Cellulose & Paper Technology).

Security / Caution Money of Rs. 2000/- refundable on completion of project training and subject to production of NOC from the concerned Division/Discipline.
HOSTEL CHARGES
- Visiting Scientist Hostel (Teak Hostel) for girls (Accommodation will be provided on sharing basis if available, otherwise students will have to make own arrangements.
1. Single Occupancy-Rs. 1650/per month
2. Double Occupancy-Rs. 825/- per month
3. Triple Occupancy- Rs. 584/- per month
2. For boys (Accommodation will be provided on sharing basis if available, otherwise
students will have to make own arrangements)
- Single Occupancy- Rs. 900/- per month
- Double Occupancy- Rs. 450/- per month
Note:
- Security/caution money of Rs. 2000/- refundable on vacation of Hostel accommodation subject to production of NOC from the concerned Hostel wardens.
- Hostel facilities may be provided on usual charges, if available, otherwise students will have to make own arrangements. During the duration of the training the students shall abide by the rules for the short assignments of students framed by the FRI Deemed to be University.
