• The Extension Division of ICFRE-Forest Research Institute (ICFRE-FRI), Dehradun participated and installed an exhibition stall in Science & Technology Exhibition of 5 th Dehradun International Science and Technology Festival -2024 which organized by VMSB Uttarakhand Technical University during 20th to 23rd November, 2024 at Suddhowala, Chakrata Road, Dehradun (Uttarakhand).
• A five days short term training programme from 21st to 25th October 2024 for wood based Industries from various parts of India related to the “Seasoning & Preservation of Wood & Bamboo” started at Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun on 21st October, 2024. The training programme is being jointly organized by the Wood Seasoning & Wood Preservation Discipline of Forest Products Division, FRI, Dehradun.
• Extension Division, ICFRE-FRI, Dehradun organized an online seminar on 3rd October, 2024 as a part of celebration of Wildlife week-2024. On this occasion an online lecture was delivered on “Human wildlife conflict: Issues, challenges and way forward” by Dr. Bilal Habib, Sr. Scientist, Wildlife Institute of India (WII), Dehradun.
• ICFRE-Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun celebrated Himalaya Day, with a special guest lecture on this Day 9thSept 2024. The special guest lecture was delivered by Dr. S.S. Samant, Former Director, Himalayan Forest Research Institute (HFRI), Shimla on the topic “Need for the Conservation and Management of Himalayan Ecosystem”.
• Extension Division of ICFRE-Forest Research Institute, Dehradun organized Van Mahotsav 2024 with a tree planting event at the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) in Dehradun as part of the "Ek Ped Maa ke Naam" campaign on 24th July 2024.
• Extension Division of ICFRE-Forest Research Institute, Dehradun organized the celebration of International Day of Yoga-2024 on the theme “Yoga for self and society” on 21st June, 2024 and organized Yoga session for all the staff of ICFRE-Forest Research Institute, Dehradun. The Forest Tree Seed Laboratory, Silviculture and Forest Management Division, ICFREForest Research Institute, organized a one-day training programme on “Quality Seed Production and Nursery Technology” for frontline staff of the Seed and Research Ranges of Uttarakhand FD at the Uttarakhand Forestry Research Institute, Haldwani, on 14th June 2024.
• ICFRE-Forest Research Institute, Dehradun celebrated World Environment Day-2024 on the theme "Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience"on 5th June, 2024 and organized Kavita Paath, Poster making competition for students and staff of ICFRE-FRI and Forest Ecology and Climate Change Division organized quiz competition and Genetics and Tree Improvement Division also organized a Presentation competition on “My ideas to fight with desertification and drought.
• Forest Research Institute organized a seminar on very important topic ‘Role of Women in Conservation of Environment’ on 20th March 2024. More than a hundred women scientists, officers, technical officers and women employees from various institutions located in the New Forest campus participated in the program. The chief guest of the function was Smt. Kusum Kandwal, Chairperson, Uttarakhand State Commission for Women. Dr. Manisha Thapliyal, Scientist-G of the institute, welcomed the gathering and discussed the importance of the topic ‘Role of women in environmental conservation’.

The Work is designed to facilitate exposure of fundamental and advanced knowledge on analytical practices of GC & GC-Ms through theoretical lectures, and live demonstrations (virtual).

	In commemoration of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, Chemistry and Bioprospecting Division of Forest Research Institute, Dehradun organized a Virtual Workshop on “Application of Natural Aroma Chemicals in Wellbeing” on 22nd April, 2022 in which knowledge and technical know-how relating to the extraction, quality assessment and value addition of aroma chemicals apart from historical trends and business opportunities were explained to the participants through lectures and virtual demonstrations.

	In commemoration of the 75th year of India’s Independence (Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav), a virtual seminar on ‘Bioassay guided probing of plants for therapeutic application’ was organized  on 22nd July 2022 by Chemistry & Bioprospecting Division, Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun. More than 100 participants including scientists, faculty, technical staff, and research scholars of the FRI and other organizations joined the programme. Four guest speakers from CSIR-IIIM, Jammu, Central Research Laboratory, Maratha Mandal Group of Institutions, Belgaum and DIT University, Dehradun deliberated upon methods and techniques employed in bioassay guided isolation, characterization, and synthesis of bioactive molecules, SWOT analysis of herbal drug development in the global context and systematic plan of pharmacological screening of plants for drug discovery.

	Under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a webinar on the topic " LCQTOFMS - Data Processing and Interpretation " was organized on 15/02/2023 at 11.00 hrs  by the Chemistry & Bio-prospecting Division of the Forest Research  Institute (FRI), Dehradun. The objective of the webinar was to enhance the analytical capabilities of scientists, technical staff and research scholars in use of LCQTOFMS technique. Speaker was Prof. Brijesh Kumar, Chief Scientist (Retired), SAIF, CSIR-CDRI, Lucknow. Through PowerPoint presentation, he spoke on the LCQTOFMS analytical technique and explained the methodology of processing and interpretation of data duly exemplified with various case studies. A number of scientists, technical staff and research scholars of the FRI and other ICFRE institutes attended the lecture.

	A monthly seminar titled ‘Application of Nanotechnology in Wood-Based Products Industry’ was conducted by Forest Products Division on 15 March, 2023 at FRIDU Boardroom. The seminar was attended by all scientists, technical officers, ACTOs, CTOs of Forest Products Division and all students of M.Sc. (Wood Science and Technology), FRIDU, Dehradun, many technocrats from wood based industries. Two speakers were invited to give talks on recent developments and research gaps on application of nano-technology in wood sector. Seminar kick-started with a welcome address by Dr. Shailendra Kumar, Scientist-D. The lead talk was delivered by Dr. Harish Barshilia, CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories, B’luru on “Future Prospects of Nano-technology for Wood Based Products”. The second talk was delivered by Prof. Gaurav Manik, Department of Polymer and Process Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee on “Carbon nano-materials: opportunities and challenges in product development”. Discussion on research gaps, question answers were followed after the presentations.
